From 7 A.M. to 8 A.M. on 9th February, 2023, the English preparation group of Grade 9 in our school organized an English knowledge contest, which was actively participated by students. To be specific, the competition consists of four parts: single choice, cloze, reading comprehension and error correction. To start with, the questions were meticulously compiled by the English lesson preparation group of Grade 9, focusing on the comprehensive ability of English knowledge and reading skills of students. On the other hand, the students of each class answered the questions earnestly, and competed with each other. Therefore, there was a spark of thoughts. Evidently, the students benefited a lot from this English knowledge contest. First of all, time-limited training could help students improve the efficiency of English reading and avoid them from wasting time due to lack of exam skills in the process of testing. Second of all, during the competition, students formed a learning atmosphere in which they chased each other and actively checked the gaps. Finally, students developed their minds through competition. Overall, this English knowledge contest not only enriched the school culture, but also stimulated students' interest and enthusiasm for English learning, which provided an opportunity for those who love English to showcase themselves. Thus, the beauty of English is blooming like a flower in every student's heart and the English knowledge contest makes the flower of English more fragrant.
